I know you’re all on the edge of your seats to find out the status on my daughter’s allergy results from her bloodwork last week!  Well, like I suspected, she is allergic to peanuts, but thankfully not dogs/cats/seeds/wheat/dairy/eggs or any of the other wonderful things out there.  The doctor did not recommend any kind of “food challenge” to build up a tolerance at this point since she is so young.  I have no experience whatsoever with allergies, and I can’t imagine a life for anyone without peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, so I feel really bad for her!

Do any of you have any experience or advice for parenting a child with peanut allergies?  The doctor’s office gave us a sample of Sunbutter, but do you know of any other good peanut butter alternatives?

Anyway, here are some things that brought me joy this week:

Game of Thrones season finale

I hate the phrase “I can’t even,” but it’s hard to find a more fitting phrase to describe the season finale of Game of Thrones that aired this week.  I don’t want to give away any spoilers, but seriously I can’t even.  And how are we going to wait until 2018 or 2019 for more?  If you’ve finished the season and are looking for laughs, check out this GOT Meme Round-Up on Buzzfeed.  I was laughing through the whole list, but especially numbers 21 and 26.

Pumpkin Spice

I went to Fresh Market this week and was delighted to find that Pumpkin Spice Yogurt Pretzels are in stock!  Is it lame to say that I look forward to these all year?  Yes? Fine, then I am shamelessly lame/#basic when it comes to pumpkin spice…

Anyway, the magical appearance of these pretzels was another sure sign that my favorite season is on its way!  When is it socially acceptable to pull out the Halloween decorations?

Skillet Chicken with Roasted Potatoes and Carrots

This recipe from Cooking Light is one of my favorite healthy dinners that is (mostly) paleo and easy to whip together.  I made it this week with some roasted broccolini from the co-op on the side.

What are your go-to easy and healthy dinner recipes?

How was your week? What brought you joy?
